On Thursday, April 26, 2018, we were the only Eastern Europeans attending the CJ Fashion Day, organized by our exclusive partner, the CJ Affiliate by Conversant network. As the name suggests, the event was all about fashion, and what better place for it than Paris – the Mecca of fashion! The main purpose of this event was to connect online fashion retailers who have an affiliate program in CJ and content partners (bloggers, youtubers and other content creators) to create a variety of possibilities for collaborations that could increase the revenue of the companies in the context of affiliate marketing. About 80 participants from different parts of the world gathered at the event. They had the opportunity to arrange meetings with other participants days in advance, thanks to the event's app. This way we knew who and when we are going to meet, and we were able to prepare conversation topics.
The event started with the first round of networking and meetings, arranged via the above-mentioned app. Next in order was the opening speech of the event by Tobias Allgeyer (Regional Vice President Germany, France, Nordics, CEE) and a lecture by Jules Bazley (Regional Vice President Southern Europe) on topical issues such as GDPR, specifics of affiliate marketing and today's customer behavior. The coffee break was followed by a panel discussion between the representatives of the advertisers StyleBob, Luisaviaroma, Mytheresa and the representatives of the partners Influence4you, Lyst and Rewardstyle. The topics ranged from the uniqueness of the partner's content, through the necessity of investing in relevant partners determined by right-time data analysis, to mobile sales. After the discussion, another round of pre-arranged meetings took place, and the whole event ended with informal networking where cocktails and appetizers were served.
VIVnetworks was represented at the event by me (Lora) and Magdalena. Magda was in charge of meeting partners such as Stylinkz, Shopcade, Lyst, eCentime and others, inviting them to join our international programs and giving them an overview of the opportunities for closer cooperation. Whilst I was meeting with the representatives of such advertiser as sneakernstuff.com, newbalance.com, luisaviaroma.com, mytheresa.com, laredoute.com and last but not least stylebop.com.
We appreciate being able to participate in this event, which gave us a lot of insights as well as results. The highly anticipated launch of Stylebop and Laredoute’s affiliate programs for the CEE region will be here soon, while the negotiation with other advertisers is in progress.
We invited Honza Javurek, a representative of the marketing agency Unikum, who takes care of the Footshop’s marketing activities along with Johanka Kučerová (Footshop). Thanks to Footshop’s involvement in cj.com, the representatives of the advertisers were able to meet and connect with major content publishers who operate internationally.
It was nice to encounter many partners we knew online and finally meet them face to face, as well as advertisers with whom we could have a talk and encourage them to focus more on our region and to start affiliate programs here.
We hope to be able to attend many other similar events so we can provide the partners with the opportunity to promote new international brands, and to the advertisers – more and more elite partners with whom they can co-operate.
